The hymn Count Your Many Blessings always reminded me of Sunday School and I would think of it more as a kids song. Recently though I have really come to love this song and bring it out of my “Sunday School” days to apply it to my life. This particlar verse in the song is my favorite. It seems I can make anything into a conflict or worry, so to just sing this in my head can drive away any worries because I know God is truly over all and has my best interest in mind.
It is easy to let negative thoughts creep into our minds. I have been trying to get rid of those thoughts by counteracting with thinking about all my blessings and what I am so very thankful for. Even in the toughest situations there is something to be thankful for.
A few things I am very thankful for:
…… a husband who loves me and is my best friend
food, shelter, and clothes
…..the background I come from and a supportive family
paying off the car and refinancing the house to decrease $$ going out (:
…..a hobby I have fun at and am able to learn more about
a wonderful church body
I haven’t been able to put much up on the blog that has to do with crafts (seems like life is just crazy busy right now) so I want to make this blog my “everything” blog. I tend to think very negatively and it has been dragging my down. My prayer is that I can find a simple something everyday that is encouraging and inspiring that I may have missed while in my negative thoughts. I want to share some with you also to maybe encourage you in your day!
