Tuesday we got to go see the Stutzman Family sing at the Eureka college. They usually come to the Ice cream social at Barry and Joyce’s but there daughter got married and so they weren’t able to make it to that. So they came this week instead! First of all I love there songs. I would listen to there CD when I was super stressed or anxious and it would usually calm me down a bit. So I was pretty excited about hearing them.
They also brought a ventriloquist (Ryan and Friends) with them. I was a little like…what’s this going to be like? He was absolutely hilarious! He is a Christian so the comedy was clean and just awesome. I was just totally encouraged after going to it. The Stutzman family also does counseling and so they did a little presentation of their ministry so it was an evening full of laughter and seriousness. I would love to be able to help people, like they do, that struggle with depression, marriage trouble, anything that like that just inspires me.
Anyway the highlight of the night for me was that Loren got called to go up on stage to make one of the puppets talk. My outgoing husband gets very embarrassed and shy when it comes to things like that, I got a picture but he said I can’t put it on my blog. (: It was great. At the end of the night they said there was a cruise put together to Alaska where both the Stutzman’s and Ryan and Friends will be on, I would love to go. We will see (:
It just encourages me to see people going all over spreading the word and helping people. It is easy for me to get discouraged feeling overwhelmed with all the negative things we hear in the news that it sometimes clouds my view that there are really great things going on out there too!! I also feel like I don’t make a difference, I want so bad to reach out and help people but don’t know how. God gives each of us gifts so I am thankful for those people who have been directed in how to use them. I pray that each one of us opens our hearts to our God given spiritual gifts and and uses them to glorify God.
