Happy April 2nd to everyone! Its kind of funny because for me March and April is the month of TONS of goals, dreams, desires, and changes! I didn’t even bother to make a new year’s resolution this year because I never stick to them. With my new sewing adventure I can hardly listen to music all day and I cant listen to silence either. So I have been listening to alot of Dave Ramsey and Dr. James Dobson. It has been really good for me. A big thing I have learned from Dave Ramsey is the importance of Goal setting. Why do our new years resolutions rarely ever work? Because there is no goal with them. I have though so often how I would love to lose weight, get in shape, stop eating so much sugar, be a better wife. Well they never happened because I never set goals and guidelines for myself! So I decided to give this goal thing a try. I sat down and wrote down short term and long term goals for my business. It is so excited because I wake up with a purpose, I get so much more done and it keeps me accountable. So that was a huge plus, but I just couldn’t really bring myself to set a goal for eating less sugar and getting healthier. Recently a friend told me of a weight loss thing she was going to start. Asked me if I wanted to be a part of it. Instead of just who loses the most weight it goes by a point system also. You have to exercise so much, eat so much fruit and veggies, and stay off of sugary treats. Now that is right up my ally. If I have guidelines already set I think I can handle it! So we just started yesterday and I am super excited about it.
The second area I want to work on, but couldn’t really ever just do myself is how am I as a wife? I heard a James Dobson on what would it like to be married to me? I was like wow I have a lot of room for improvement! Recently I stumbled upon a blog with a 30 challenge on encouraging your husband. I was very excited because I am great at guidelines! So starting yesterday I am doing both the 8 week weight loss challenge and the 30 day marriage challenge. Along with many goals to grow my business! Join me in setting goals for yourself, it is great! So in the next couple months I hope to improve my health, become a better wife, and build a business that I am passionate about!
