Recently my brother-in-law got me addicted to Peet’s coffee. He got me an assortment of Peet’s K-cups for Christmas and I have been LOVING them! Their French Roast kind is super strong in my books, so I figured it would be perfect for trying out my own Carmel Macchiato. Usually when I try to make my own mocha’s or whatever it turns out nasty. I still hadn’t made anything that compared to the yummy sugary drinks from Starbucks, or the local coffee shop. But one sounded super yummy so I decided to give another try to my “at home” version. Over at the Commona My House blog, she shared a free Ebook: The Ultimate Starbucks Recipe Book. So I decided to try out the Carmel Macchiato Recipe from there. However, it didn’t give specific measurements and called for espresso. Well it seems I can never really stick to any recipe, I find them useful for a starting point!! So here is my version:
8 ounces strongly brewed coffee (I really like the French Roast from Peet’s)
3/4 cup milk
A shot of vanilla syrup
I used my Keurig to brew the coffee, but you could just use 8 ounces of strongly brewed coffee from your coffee pot. I just love the convenience of my Keurig, I am addicted!! Then I heated up the milk in the microwave for 1 min and 20 sec in a mason jar. After it was done I put a lid on and shook it for a few seconds until the milk was foamy. Then pour your milk in a cup and add the coffee, vanilla and carmel sauce. Then you have an easy, extremely yummy, and might I add CHEAP carmel macchiato!
