Have you heard? It is Good Friday. The day that Jesus died for each one of us. He took everyone’s sins upon himself so that you and I can be forgiven and have a hope of eternal life.
He was beaten for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. -Isaiah 53:5.
I am so completely humbled that Jesus left his perfect home in Heaven to come down to earth. Not only did he leave his home in Heaven, he was beaten, ridiculed by his own people, and hung on a cross to die. What love that had to be. What love for us God had to have to send his only son to complete this task.
On Sunday, three days later, he arose and lives today. What joy, what great hope this gives us. I know I am forgiven because of what Jesus did for us so many years ago. You can be forgiven too. No one is an exception.
Jesus lives today, he lives in me. I can face tomorrow because I know he is there to help me. He holds my hand each day and helps me through. I can bring my burdens to him. I can leave it all at his feet because he died for me. It is such an undeserved gift. I did nothing to earn it, but I am so grateful it is mine.
