I absolutely love Maxi skirts! They are super comfy and cute. So when I found out I was pregnant I decided I was going to make a few for myself. Stretchy/comfy skirt plus a growing belly sounded like a perfect combo! I had been wanting to make one for awhile but kept putting it off. Well no excuses now. Let me tell you, they are worth it especially when pregnant. They are not hard at all to make. If you can cut and sew a straight line, you can make a maxi skirt! I am not one to re-invent the wheel so instead of a full blown tutorial, I will share with you the tutorial that I followed. Head on over to The Winthrop Chronicles Blog and follow her tutorial. She has great and easy to follow directions. I got my fabric from a fabric.com and JoAnne fabrics. JoAnne’s is hit and miss, sometimes they have tons of fun prints, other times not so much. If you hit their sales right you can get the knit fabric for $5 a yard! If you order from fabric.com, Riley Blake makes a great quality knit fabrics. The chevron maxi I am wearing above is from Riley Blake. I think it is probably my favorite.
Happy Maxi Skirt making!
