I am completely in love with the way this mobile turned out! I wasn’t sure I was even going to make a mobile, but decided it probably would be a good idea. I knew I wanted something with contrasting colors so her little eyes could pick up on it. So I decided on a few different corals and two different golds. I looked around on Pinterest and really did like all the circle mobiles, but I kinda wanted it to be my own. I am really in love with arrows so I decided I wanted arrows on the mobile somewhere. I knew the arrows would be more time consuming so I didn’t really want to do a ton of them! After thinking about it for awhile I finally decided on hearts. I was going to do an arrow, then a heart, then another arrow, and another heart. That is until I made the arrows. After making the first color of arrows, I nixed the second color and decided three sets of hearts would be much easier!!
The only thing I bought to make this mobile was this fun “phoomph for fabric” from JoAnne Fabrics. If you are using felt, leather, or vinyl you won’t need this. I wanted to use the coral fabrics that I had used for other things in her nursery, so I needed something that was going to stiffen up the fabric. This stuff comes in one sheet and you peel the back and front off and stick your fabric right over it. It bonds the two fabrics, making it stiff, firm, and so it won’t fray. Everything else I already had on hand. For the top of the mobile I used a embroider ring that I had previously covered in fabric for a project that never got done. For the arrows I just used a vinyl. For the string I used something I had on hand (not sure what it is called, pictured below). You can so easily use whatever you want for the string and the top part of the mobile!
