My sweet baby Kina,
One month ago we got to meet you after 9 months of waiting. One month ago daddy told me how perfect you were right after I had you. One month ago you wrapped us around your fingers. And what a month it has been. This whole parenting thing is so new and so different. I find myself googling millions of things each day to make sure they are what you are doing is “normal”. Because yes I am a worrier. I find myself wishing you could just tell me what’s going on, because this new momma feels like she has no clue what she is doing!
In this last month we have seen you grow, we have seen blow outs, massive spit ups, and have had lots of cuddle time. You love sleeping on daddy’s chest, looking at our fireplace, and being talked to. In this past week you have really started looking so alert and less sleepy. And ever since we brought you home you have been a squirmer. I can lay you on your back and you will roll over to your side. You are a strong little girl too. At around 2 weeks you would hold your head up and look around while being burped. You also are able to stand when you want to (usually when you are mad!).
At the hospital they gave me a shield to use while breastfeeding you because you wouldn’t latch on. I used it up until a week ago. Since then I have been trying to wean you off it with the help of a very awesome lady! You have still been fighting me even though you can feed fine without the shield. Where did that stubbornness come from!! Between your father and me, how could you not have stubborn streak?!
When we brought you home from the hospital you weighed 6 pounds 4 ounces. At your two week appointment you weighed 7 pounds 8 ounces. In the past week or two you have finally started filling out your newborn clothes. Before you were swimming in them! One sleeper I had you in, you managed to get both legs into one leg of the sleeper. You’re our tiny little peanut. Everyone thinks you look like both your daddy and I. You are just a good mix!
But most important, each day you make mommy and daddy love you more and more!
Just look at that sad face! Someone was not thrilled with pictures! Happy one month baby love.
