Christmas time is full of fun decorations to put you in the Christmas spirit! I have put together a few of my favorite DIY projects to make your house more festive!
Lighted Burlap Garland from Create Craft Love.
Glitter Deer Head by: Hey Lauren Rene.
And this Merry and Bright Reclaimed barn wood sign by The Ruffled Stitch. This sign was so simple to make. Here’s what we did:
1. Stained the barn wood
2. Designed the Merry and Bright on my silhouette cameo , then cut it out on clear contact paper. I use contact paper since it is so much cheaper than buying the silhouette brand 😉
2B- If you don’t have a cameo you can design it in microsoft word. Print it out then trace it onto contact paper. Then using an exacto knife, cut it out!
3. Stick your contact paper with the letters cut out onto your sign. Make sure all areas of the sign you don’t want painted are taped off.
4. Spay paint the letters with your choice of color!!
5. Let dry then remove the contact paper and enjoy your sign!
I initially really wanted to drill some holes in the sign and put lights behind it to create a lighted sign. But I really liked it the way it was! Maybe next year I will try that out 😉
Enjoy making all your fun decorations!
