I am so excited to release my very first pattern! Awhile ago I bought a course on how to create PDF patterns. It is seriously the best thing ever. I want to eventually release some clothes patterns, but for now I am sharing with you my very own wallet pattern! In the past people have asked if I have a pattern for my wallets they could buy. Until now I have not wanted to share it because I was really focusing on making wallets. Now I am slightly shifting gears and am really wanting to share patterns with you. Don’t worry, I will still sell ready made wallets in the shop for now. This pattern is for the deluxe wallet geared toward the Dave Ramsey plan. I may in the future also release my standard wallet pattern. I wanted to start with this one for many reasons. The number one reason however, is that I want give those on a really tight budget the option for a cute wallet. If you sew and you can’t afford to buy a ready made Dave Ramsey style budget wallet, but you really want one, doing it yourself will save a lot of money and make it doable! Plus I love sewing so much I want to share that love with other people! By making patterns I am not only able to sew, but I am also able to share the excitement that comes with making something completely yourself with others. Double yay! This pattern is now available in my Etsy shop!
So what’s the story behind this wallet?!?
When I started my Etsy shop and discovered I absolutely loved making wallets, I was also on a really tight budget following the Dave Ramsey plan. I began to have a huge passion for helping other’s on their Dave Ramsey journey. I originally had my standard wallets with a set of durable plastic dividers for those following the Dave Ramsey plan. Then one day someone messaged me telling me she loved my style and asked if I could make a wallet that had envelopes sewn in. It’s a little bit nerve racking to completely make something from scratch, but I did and it turned out! YAY! If you have read any of my previous blog posts, you know I was anti-patterns so I created everything myself from nothing. I may have changed my views on patterns since, but nevertheless doing everything myself self taught me tons!
