A couple weeks ago I posted about the Hatteras Hoodie I made for Kina. Well Hey June came out with a women’s version! Yay hooray! I have so much love for all her patterns! They are comfy, wearable, and cute! This pattern is no exception!
I was able to be a tester for the Hallifax Hoodie also. This pattern comes with five different views. The options include a hoodie, kangaroo pocket, full zipper, high-low hem, twisted side seams, and funnel neck. If you haven’t figured out by now, I love the high low hem’s so for my first Hallifax Hoodie I made view E, which is a high low hem, twisted seams, and a funnel neck. I made it out of a sweater knit. This view had instructions for a drawstring to go through the funnel neck, but since the fabric was more dressy, I opted to leave it out. It is oh so comfy and warm. There were a few different versions during testing. I had made this version before there was an updated version to make the pattern 2″ longer. This one turned out a tad short for my liking, but it was changed in the final pattern, so if you like longer shirts like me, just imagine this 2″ longer. Perfection!
The second Halifax Hoodie I made was view A which includes a hood and a kangaroo pocket. I made this one using a soft french terry fabric, accented with floral jersey knit. You can’t go wrong with floral. I have been slightly obsessed with it lately. This one turned out absolutely perfect, I just wanted to stay in it all day long, oh but the weather when I made it said no. I think the fall days are finally here so I can wear my new hoodies!!
Like I said with the Hatteras Hoodie, Adriana is a great designer and only makes great things. So you should check out her pattern shop. You won’t be disappointed! This pattern has so many views, different options, it is a staple for fall and winter! I want to make like a million more. If only there were more hours in the day for sewing! Through this weekend you can get it for 25% off!! Seriously go, hurry, it’s awesome!
