Eating: You are starting to show preferences. You sill eat pretty much everything, but you eat your favorites first. You really love fruit and veggies. We try really hard not to give you very much sugar, but daddy can’t resist sometimes. One day he gave you a sip of Pepsi. That did not go over well, all of it was spit back out. At this stage you are a little health nut. You love weird things like tomatoes, homemade salsa (plain might I add), and like I mentioned fruit and veggies. As much as you like your healthy food, you also can’t resist chocolate and ice cream. A daughter after my own heart! When we were at my family’s for Thanksgiving, Grandma fed you a brownie. You were not happy when it was all gone. You got off her lap and headed to the next nearest person with a brownie. It so happened to be my nephew who was not planning on sharing! He kept trying to move and you kept trying to get it. The determination in your eyes was priceless.
Sleeping: Bed time at 7, wake up around 6. I am usually never ready to get you up at 6 so you play in your crib until 7, which is great! You are in between needing one nap and two naps. The majority of the time you will take one 2 hour nap in the morning. If you don’t quite make it two hours you usually will take a second nap. A lot of the times though, when you start getting fussy in the afternoon I will lay you down in your crib for a little quiet time. Mostly for me, but you really like it too. You just play with your stuffed animals and blankets for a half hour up to an hour. When I go in to get you, you are in a much happier mood than when I laid you down.
Development: Your little personality is coming out big time and I love seeing it. You are starting to say a lot of words. Sometimes I wonder how much you really do know, but are not letting on to. You say choo choo, mom, dad, nom nom, baa, moo, what’s that (in a very slurred manner), pop, bath, baby, bye bye, belly, uh oh, hi, and ya. You can sign more, and all done. All though, I am not really sure if the sign I taught you for all done is right, I just kind of made it up :). You can answer by shaking your head yes or no to simple questions. You are constantly amazing me at what you know. You started walking October 13. When you stared, you still really liked crawling so it was about half and half. The end of October is when you switched to completely walking. Once you figured out it could be faster than crawling, you were all about it. You love dancing. Im not sure I have ever seen someone dance so much. I try to have music on quite a bit and you dance to it off and on all day. It doesn’t stop at music. You will dance to anything that has any semblance of rhythm. Like brushing teeth, the blender, stirring food. You will even break out in dancing at times when there is no music on. You must have songs in your head constantly! You will occasional “sing” to music also.
