Sleeping: Bed time at 7-7:30, wake up around 6-6:30. You still play in your crib until 7 when I get you up. I think we have officially hit the 18 month sleep regression. You still sleep fine through the night. Well I don’t know about fine, but you never cry for us. I got up one night to go to the bathroom and heard you kicking the wall. I am not sure how often you get up to play, but hey you don’t need us so I guess whatever! However, you have been stubborn on naps and bedtime. You will refuse to take naps some days until I finally rock you to sleep, and other days you play in your crib for 1 1/2 hours plus until you finally fall asleep. It drove me insane because I always rock and sing to you a little before laying you down and your eyes are always droopy. Then once you are in the crib its like whoohoo party! No sleep for me! I finally decided to just let you be and eventually you fall asleep. Bedtimes are hit and miss. Sometimes you fall asleep right when we lay you down, and other times you play for 1- 1 1/2 hours before falling asleep. I began wondering if we should put you to bed later, etc, but you were always tired in the morning so I knew you needed the sleep. You are getting your incisors and I think even some molars, so your teeth may be messing with your sleep as well. We eventually fall asleep, it just stresses this mama out. I hate feeling like I don’t know what I should be doing for you!
Development: Your little personality is coming out big time and I love seeing it. You say a lot of words. Let’s see if I can remember them all: (all from last month)+ nose, eyes, teeth, stinky, pretty, shoe, clothes, boot, tweet tweet, ear, poo poo, woof woof, Jesus, hot, brrr, thank you, please, coat, sew, and I am sure there is more. On top of those words, you have become a parrot. If you hear us say something you will randomly repeat it. You normally just say one word at a time, but the other day you pointed to my shoes and said pretty shoe. I was like well thank you!! It was so fun to hear you put something together correctly. Obviously you can’t say all the words perfectly clear, but you manage to say them the best you can! When I ask you to go get something, you can locate it and bring it to me. The other day I asked you to go pick out the outfit you wanted to wear for the day. You preceded to run to your room, and then a little bit later come back and hand me a complete outfit. It was even matching. I was pretty impressed! You are starting to pretend with your toys. You will give your baby or dog part of your snack, or you will smell “flowers” when you see them, etc. You push cars down the hallway and one day you were crawling beside your turtle you were making walk…or crawl…whatever turtles do 🙂 You still love dancing, and have to have music on ALL THE TIME! You love “helping me.” You want to help with laundry, or sewing, or computer work, or cooking. Whatever I am doing, you want to do too. One day you found one of your bath rags and took it around the house “cleaning” everything. You want to do things by yourself. If you get ahold of a rag after meal time, you try to wipe your own face, or wipe the table in front of you. It is so fun to see you learning!! You are always on the go! You want to run everywhere we go. You do not sit still. It is fun seeing you want to explore so much! You arn’t afraid of anyone. On one hand I am so thankful for that, on the other, I worry about when you get older and are in public places. Now its ok because I am constantly holding your hand or by you. I went to the courthouse to get my passport recently. You of course only lasted a mere couple minutes of me holding you. While I was filing out my paperwork you started squirming. The lady said, just put her up on the counter and I can watch her. So I did. You of course decided to actually go to her then proceeded to give her a big huge hug. It made her day. It does make my heart happy to see you loving on other people and making their day!
