Spring, Summer, and Fall are my FAVORITE! I can’t get enough of them and when winter hits I can’t wait for it to be over. There is something about being outside on a warm day that is good for the soul. Back in February/March I started planning my wardrobe for the Virgin Islands. I had so much fun planning that, I figured why not plan my summer wardrobe?! It will give me something to aim for and inspire you as you plan your summer wardrobe!
The thing about handmade is, I can decided exactly what I want and make it. It’s pretty awesome. After searching pintrest I rounded up a few things that really stuck out to me and paired them with patterns to make your own!
Up first Dresses!!
Dresses are probably my absolute favorite thing to wear. They are so easy to wear, super cute, and completely weather appropriate for summer.
Boheme Sky– I actually tested this dress when it was in the testing phase. I love the long sleeve version I have so much I want to create a summer tank version!
Gwen Dress– I love a good tee shirt dress. The Gwen dress is basically a tee shirt dress with lots of different options. One of the options is for a partial front button placket, which I love! I plan to make that version!
Charleston Dress-I also tested this dress. There are two versions that come with this pattern and I tested version 1. I want to make the second version with some lace overlay for church!
Aurora– I love the simple yet dressy look of this tank top. Perfect for summer!
Julia Cardigan– I love cardigans. I really do like short sleeve cardigans but barely have any. Hopefully I can make up some of these Julia Cardigans in short sleeve for summer!
Union St Tee– I already professed my love for the Union St Tee here, but I can’t wait to make lots more. It is a wardrobe staple for sure! I used to not really like V necks, but the Union Tee changed my ways!
Button Up Pencil (Coming Soon)- This of course will be worn numerous times because, well I created the pattern! I am pretty excited about this skirt and will wear it many times during summer…and beyond 😉
Brumby– I professed my love of the Brumby here, and won’t stop can’t stop making them!
Birkin Capris– I love the way the Birkin Flares fit and talked about it here. They only come in pant version flares, but I plan to hack the pattern to make some capris from them. I really love the pants I am seeing with holes, I have some light denim just waiting to be made into capris with holes. Now will I be brave enough to actually put holes in handmade jeans?!?! We will find out!
Swim Suit- I have seen these super cute hight waisted bottoms with peplum tops all around Pinterest lately. I bought a McCall’s pattern I plan to hack to achieve similar results.
