During the testing process I made a few modifications to the pattern. I am looking for a few more testers willing to test the final version for me!
The Button Up Pencil is a straight skirt in two versions. Version one features a full front button placket with slanted pockets. The back features a slanted yoke and back pockets. Version two features a partial front button placket and slanted pockets. The back is simple and classy leaving version two to be easily dressed up. Both versions are knee length and feature a contoured waistband that sits just below the natural waist. The Button Up Pencil can be dressed up with fancier material for work settings, or dressed down by using a casual fabric like denim. Throw on a pair of heels and cardigan to dress it up, or a pair of sneakers and a tee shirt for a casual day out. the options are endless for The Button Up Pencil!!
If your waist is in a larger size than you hips, you most likely will be able to size down one since the waistband is cut with some stretch. For example, your hips are size 8 but your waist is size 10, you could sew a straight size 8.
