It has been pretty quiet around here and I can finally share why! I have been working on a super fun custom project: Bridesmaid dresses! Ever since I was a young girl, I have absolutely loved weddings and pretty dresses. I remember when I was just a young girl walking through JC Penny’s and begging my dad to buy me one of those PRETTY dresses to play dress up in. Low and behold it was a prom dress that I wanted, I now finally understand why my dad wouldn’t let me add that to my dress up stash ;). Along with always loving dresses and weddings, I had my own wedding dress custom made and was in absolute awe over the ability of someone to actually sew a wedding dress. This was before I even knew how to sew one stitch, but it planted a dream in my heart to one day sew bridal wear. You can imagine my absolute excitement of being able to make these dresses! I was pretty much in heaven with this custom project!
I have had so much fun making these dresses! I was able to make 5 dresses for the bridesmaids and 2 dresses for the bride’s nieces. The family was so great to work with and it was so fun getting to know them! The style of dresses she went with is so up my alley so it was really fun making them! I know the wedding day was beautiful!
The dress features a lace bodice with sheer lace sleeves, a belt with a diamond embellishment, and a chiffon skirt with some side gathering.
Through this process I finally was able to get a much bigger cutting table for cutting garments. While I was super excited about that, the giant table partially blocks the natural light from the window making taking picture much harder! The bride plans to send me some of the actual wedding pictures to share with you, but until then, I couldn’t help but share these!
Stay tuned, tomorrow I will share with you the nieces dresses!
